Overview

Designed and built a prototype for transparent farmer-consumer transactions using blockchain concepts — eliminating intermediaries and ensuring fair pricing for farmers. The research was published at IEEE.

The problem

Traditional agricultural supply chains involve multiple middlemen between the farmer and the end consumer. This inflates prices for consumers and reduces margins for farmers. Transparency is near-zero — consumers don't know where their food comes from or what they're actually paying for.

What we built

  • Front-end workflows for product listing and transaction interaction
  • Blockchain-based transaction ledger for transparency and immutability
  • UI for farmers to list products and consumers to browse and purchase directly

Impact
